The Power Of Technology.

Technology is perhaps one of the most common words that we come across in today's life.
But, how is it defined? The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines 'Technology' as 'the practical application of knowledge especially in a particular area.' Now, this is what I was looking for - the practical application of knowledge. To Know about anything we follow the scientific method. i.e We first observe, experiment, form a hypothesis, theorize, and finally validate our theories through technology.
Technology is a measure of our potential. According to the sci-fi movie 'Iron Man 2', it is brilliantly said "Everything is achievable through technology. Technology can give us better living, robust health, and the possibility of world peace." In my opinion this is completely true. Every time I see this movie I ask myself the same question "When will we have the technology to construct the Iron-Man Suit?" Someday we will achieve it but let us leave this for the future.
Technology is always dynamic. Everyday we keep on discovering or rediscovering something exotic. Ultimately, we explore our knowledge practically through technology. For Example : First, we discovered light, its properties and then we invented the optical instruments such as a camera, a microscope etc. Similarly, we first discovered the structure of the nucleus and then invented nuclear reactors. Again, we first learnt about the sub-nuclear particles and then invented the particle accelerators which we still use to discover something new. What seemed as impossible one day is very possible through technology today. For Example : 100 years ago no one had ever thought that we could communicate with other people around the world so easily. Technology has made this possible via telephones. Today its not a miracle to talk to people on the other side of the world. Technology simplifies our lives. There are a numerous things which were totally impossible in the past but are possible now.
Today, we think of some issues like Time Travel, Teleportation, Travelling more than the speed of light as impossible events but are they really so? Technology might one day surely make all these stuffs possible. We can never know the limit of our technology. It may not be possible in the present but what about the Future? There might be some geniuses out there trying their best to find the answer to everything including the ultimate question of our universe - "What is the origin and the fate of the universe?" And unlike the answer given in The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, ours won't be simply 42.
