THE GOD PARTICLE!!

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC)
LHC is a gigantic particle accelerator used by physicists to study the smallest fundamental particles in nature. It is presently the most powerful machine on our planet. Two beams of subatomic particles called 'hadrons' – either protons or lead ions – travel in opposite directions inside the circular accelerator, gaining energy with every lap. The LHC was activated in 2008. Since then, it has been increasing its intensity of the beams. The main works for which LHC aims and which made it famous are the possibility for creating dark matter and the discovery for the elusive Higgs Boson.
This Higgs Boson is claimed to be the 'GOD PARTICLE' by the media. This particle could be the key to a lot of unexplained questions about our universe. The possible discovery of the Higgs Boson can bring a tsunami in the world of physics and can even shake its very foundations. But, till now there is no solid proof of its discovery. Actually a Higgs boson is a hypothetical massive elementary particle predicted to exist by the Standard Model of particle physics. The existence of the particle is postulated as a means of resolving inconsistencies in current theoretical physics. If it exists, it is of a class of particles known as scalar bosons. Bosons have integer spin and scalar bosons have spin zero. The LHC is trying to confirm the existence of this particle by experimentation. Recently, a leaked memo from four scientists at the LHC posted on the Internet, stating that the hunt for the elusive Higgs may be over. This might be just a rumour, because till now CERN has not officially stated its presence. We can just say that discovering this particle would bring about a revolution in our life and we will be a step closer to understand our Universe!!.

Here is a video in which famous theoretical physicist Michio Kaku speaks on the God Particle.

MY FIRST POEM!!.

Hey Guys, here is my first English poem which I had written when I was 13 and was studying in standard 8th. I was unaware of the fact that I could write poems. One night around 10.00 p.m I was sitting lonely at my study table staring at my pen. Then, all of a sudden I just picked up my pen and expressed all my feelings on the paper that had been torn out of my copy. I named it LIFE.

LIFE

What is life?
Is it a game that GOD plays,
With all the living beings?
Or simply a task to work on;
Between a particular time,
Since our birth till death,
Which will remain forever in the depth of our souls.
Is it a challenge to conquer?
Or simply,
A great struggle to live long.
Whatever it might be;
It is a wonderful Gift,
Given by God to all of us.
What is the real Secret of life?
I am still in confusion,
Hope that our future generations,
Might overcome this phantasm!!

That's All I could think of that night and took a nice sleep. I still remember that when I showed my poem to my mother, my classmates, and my English teacher, they all had just one question in their mind after reading it : DID YOU WRITE THIS ON YOUR OWN? And I replied : YES, I did.
My mother believed me because before this I had written a number of poems in Hindi and some of them even had been published in the local newspaper. But, my classmates did not believe me. They thought that I had copied it from a magazine. I knew that it was difficult to make them believe, so I didn't try anymore. Instead I started writing some more poems, mostly with my will and some encouragement from my teachers. In a months, I had written a dozen of poems. Most of them were liked by my teachers and gradually I got my title in the class as a POET. I was so elated and a bit surprised too. After this incident, my poems were being read in my class by my teacher. That was a wonderful experience.
I even showed my poems to my Principal, and he liked it. He helped me to correct my mistakes and reviewed all of my poems, giving some valuable tips. When I was called in his office, he asked me to carry this work forward and smiled at me and said " KEEP TRYING ".

I still write poems but not very often.
P.S. : I have used "GOD" in this poem, because I wasn't pretty sure but now I am totally sure. I am an Atheist, still this poem is my first one, and I am proud of it ;)

Can Science Predict our Existence?

SCIENCE : A magnificent path of life.
It is obvious that Science is wonderful; a bold way to express our thoughts. We have learnt a lot about our world through science. Not only about our world but also about our Universe. The word 'Science' originates from the Latin verb 'scientia' meaning knowledge. We know about the earth, solar system and everything through systematic visualization of the nature around us. Till now, we have travelled a long distance from where we started. Can we say that Science is the key to everything. Can we unlock the deepest secret of our existence and the universe through Science? In my opinion, YES we can. The journey of Science has just begun. We, Humans have a long way to go. This is because we are presently the most curious living creature on earth. And this is what the blog is all about!! For those who hate science please don't read forward. I guess the heading to this blog was not scary enough for those who dislike Science. Alright!.
Here's a question guys - How did our universe come into existence?
Well that's a tough one. The most accepted theory regarding this question is "The Big-Bang Theory". The early cosmologies in various traditions believed that our universe started at some finite time in the past. But, various other people believed in a static and an unchanging universe. This conflict of ideas put forward a question about whether the universe had a beginning or not. If we think of our universe as static and eternal, we will find that there is always an infinite amount of time before any event, which is absurd. Hubble's Observations suggested that there was a time called the Big-bang; which is now believed to be around ten or twenty thousand million years ago when the universe was infinitesimally small and therefore, infinitely dense. At this time the curvature of space-time would have been infinite. This was the Big-Bang Singularity. Okay, so that may be how our universe came into existence.
Another common misconception of the Human mind is about "time". Most of us believe that time is infinite. But, it is not. According to some brilliant physicists time had no meaning before the Big Bang. One more misconception about our universe is that it the only one. This, in my opinion, is false. I strongly believe in the concept of multi-verse which extend in the Hyperspace through various dimensions.
Just after the Big-Bang, our universe expanded and cooled. The rate of expansion of our universe was totally perfect. If one second after the big bang the rate of expansion had been smaller by even one part in a hundred thousand million million, the universe would have recollapsed before it ever reached its present size. On the other hand, if the expansion rate at one second had been larger by the same amount, the universe would have expanded so much that it would be effectively empty by now. Our existence is not a mere chance.
Thus, I conclude that we exist due to a series of events through which our universe has evolved. Now, to me it seems that those events were so perfectly synchronized that we exist today. But, why was it so? Why was everything in favour of life? Who was the GRAND-DESIGNER?
